Queensland Aged and Disability Advocacy (QADA) are delivering guardianship workshops across Queensland to provide a comprehensive analysis of law and practice in the Queensland guardianship regime including modules covering: Enduring Documents (Enduring Power of Attorney, Advance Health Directives), Statutory Health Attorney, Mental Capacity, the Queensland Guardianship Regime (Office of the Adult Guardian, Public Trustee and Public Advocate) and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
The workshops are aimed at service providers working in this area and are practical and informative to provide for the development of skills and knowledge.
The workshops provide education about the various presentations of reduced mental capacity - such as dementia, mental illness, intellectual disability and acquired brain injury. The workshop also assists service providers working in this area and promotes the principles of the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000 Qld.
The Sunshine Coast workshop will be held on 19 May. For more details and to secure your place, see the QADA website here.
